Is The Rat creating tiny gambling addicts?

Is Chuck E. Cheese creating tiny gambling addicts? - The Week:

So a California mom is suing CEC for promoting gambling to her kids (for $5M, no less)...and what is the South Asian angle? We have all been to CEC, and yes, the rat is hideous, and yes, you could say that encouraging the kids to get more tickets to get that plastic ninja could be gambling, but:

a. we do it by choice
b. what other options do you have for doing birthday parties in a safe, shriek-ful environment?

"Keller is right that many Chuck E. Cheese machines are games of chance. When kids can't win enough tickets to 'pick up their piece of plastic junk,' they end up shrieking, forcing parents to buy game tokens until their offspring hits the jackpot — it's the only way to 'get yourself to somewhere more pleasant, somewhere with wine.'"
