Seven Things India’s Restaurants Need to Fix

Seven Things India’s Restaurants Need to Fix - India Real Time - WSJ:

"The nightclub syndrome: Many of India’s dining spots seem to be having an identity crisis: Am I a restaurant or am I a nightclub? We are delighted places like The Living Room, in Delhi’s artsy Hauz Khas neighborhood, have live music. But please, not with our main course. Others, like Moet’s – a cornerstone of the city’s Defence Colony market – even have a DJ deck. Many happily settle for loud and dated summer club hits. The result is the worst of both worlds: you are stuck with your legs under the table and are unable to have a conversation with your co-diners – unless you are prepared to shout in each other’s ears, one syllable at a time."
